Bulletin for February 21, 2016

Slava Isusu Christu! Slava i vo viki!  +  Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory for ever!

From the Fathers of the Church …

 Saint Ambrose of Milan

“When they forgive sins, men exercise the ministry to which they have een called, they do not exercise the power of forgiveness in their own right; they do not forgive in their own name, but in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.  They make the petition and God grants.  Men are servants; the generosity of forgiveness is the power of God.” (De Spirito Sancto)

St. Irenaeus of Lyon

“By forgiving his sins, Jesus cured the man who was paralyzed, and showed in a visible way who he was.  If God alone can forgive sins and the Lord forgave and cured men, then he is the Word of God made Son of Man, with the power to forgive sins, both as man and as God.  As man, he shared our poor nature; as God, he took pity on us and forgave our sins.” (Adversus haereses)

I do appreciate and enjoy the bulletins; however, I just got six at one time. Clearly, some are dated. So, this makes any possibility of participating impossible? I send my blessings on all there… Happy Great Fast, fr randall wasyl

  2. Fr. Randall, I have been having technical difficulties in getting the bulletins updated in a timely manner, but I believe I have fixed the problem and they should be done more regularly from here on out. The parish calendar is updated each Sunday night with the liturgical schedule for the following week, and can be found both here and at the website http://www.stphilipofsacramento.com. In addition, if you wish to receive the bulletin every Sunday, please contact Fr. Francis to make sure he sends them to you. I’ll be happy to let him know that you’d like them sent if you’re not already on the email list. Please visit soon! We’d love to see you.
